The Summer Wellness Edit Day 4

SPOTLIGHT:

Naomi Edwards

Ayurvedic Practicioner

  • Before I dive into who Naomi is and why she’s so amazing- I figure I better start with what an Ayurvedic Practitioner is for anyone out there who is new to this world… An Ayurvedic practitioner is a healthcare professional trained in Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine from India, also referred to the sister science to yoga. They assess an individual's unique constitution (doshas) and tailor holistic treatments to restore and maintain health. Their value on a wellness journey lies in their personalized approach, which considers the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—promoting long-term well-being and natural healing. By addressing root causes rather than symptoms, Ayurvedic practitioners can help prevent illness and support overall harmony in life.

Who is Naomi?

Naomi is in fact one of the first yoga teachers I ever hired for my studio. Referred to me by a trusted friend, I loved Naomi right away- as a yoga teacher her instincts were always to pair challenge with safety and yet always with fun! She took to teaching my method with total ease and I took her classes whenever I could! In her time at the yoga studio (which was basically all of the time the studio was open- Naomi was constantly on a journey to learn more. And her journey to becoming an Ayurvedic Practitioner was a natural progression of that desire to learn and gain more and more tools to heal.

All of the above being reasons why I am so excited to introduce her to you all and why I have also invited her to be a part of the fall Ayurveda retreat!! A whole weekend with Heidi and Naomi and myself cultivating custom practices, treatments, yoga classes and more for you- can you imagine?!!! More on that in a few months- but you can get on the info list NOW.

For today- see below for Naomi’s expert Ayurvedic quick tips to balance and cool ourselves this summer season.
