Right relationship to outside sources
Hello Yogis and Yoginis, This week we enter our final week of Flow & Evolve- a month that has been dedicated to continuing our exploration of and awakening to our response to discomfort.
In this final week we add the use of a prop and open up a whole new can of (very important) worms. That is- how do we respond to discomfort that is brought on by an outside source? Much of the discomfort and pain in our lives is caused my our own thought patterns but a great deal of our pain is also brought on by outside events, people and things seemingly beyond our control. If that is true then an important step in ending our suffering must come from examining our relationship to things that are outside of us. And so this week we dive in!
On the Mat we are adding a strap to bridge pose. The strap allows for the release of tension, doing the holding for us so we can be present to the releasing. Assuming the relasing is pleasant for us, this will be a pleasant expereince, A place to remember in our cells and tissues what it's like to feel held, to be reminded that the universe is rising up to hold you in every moment. You are not alone. There is a plan and that plan has your greatest good, your greatest joy in mind. Even when we don't understand the twits and turns we can find peace in that knowing-ness.
In the event that it does not feel ease -ful to be held in the depth of the sensation of lengthening we have a big opportunity on our hands- The opportunity to watch ourselves respond to discomfort from an outside source- do you blame it? Do you judge it? Do you hate it? - Register the feelings that brings up in you.
Or
Can you welcome it? Can you thank it for reminding you that you are stronger than you remembered? In doing so can you connect to the understanding that you decide how you feel about outside sources. The job of pain and suffering is to show us where we are ready to learn - where we are ready to spiritually grow up, to rise up and to remember our capacity to love. Having gained a capacity to love that big- no one can ever take that away from you- you are forever changed, forever expanded and impermeable to that source causing you suffering again. Isn't that powerful! When viewed this way, the more we go through the more joy and peace we will have in our lives. The more suffering you have had in your life the more the universe is saying you are ready! You are ready to know your true power, you are ready to know true love, you are ready to know true peace. And it's never too late. It's never too late to look back and reframe the events of our life that they may be helpful to our process and not harmful.
This life is not a punishment, it is an invitation to greatness.
Join us this week On and Off the Mat as together we can say- BRING IT ON world! With Great Respect and Love,
Nicole
