An Involution Revolution
OFF THE MAT
Weekly Thought Offering:
Yoga is the process by which we realize that we do not need to "resolve" to become anything better or different than we already are.
Yoga is re-awakening to the fact that we are inherently perfect.
We need not evolve to become anything other than we already are.
Instead we involute, we shed all that is in the way of our Light.
And then we are free.

Hello Sadhakas!
This is a BIG week.
This week we prepare to mindfully drop the weight of a painful and heavy year. This week we set the stage for an in-volutionary(I’ll be talking about this word a lot this week on our IG Live series, i hope you join!) year to come.
This year, after so much pain and fear and struggle and unknowns, now is a time more than ever to be conscious about what we are taking with us, what we are leaving behind and what kind of a world we want to create for ourselves
in the micro and macrocosm in the year to come.
This week we kick off ON AND OFF THE MAT with the "letting go" piece.
ON THE MAT we say hello to a new pose! Hello revolved side angle! Wowzer do you have a lot to teach us about juggling- you are a twist, you are a balance, you are asymmetrical, you are strengthening, you are grounding.
This week we learn how to twist without collapsing. We learn how to create and maintain space. That ability in the body lets us release while greatly limiting the potential for harm and increase the deep benefits.
OFF THE MAT we attempt the same. We attempt to learn how to let go. Letting go can be scary. Letting go means there might be a vacuum left in a place that was once occupied and we are often afraid of that space. I want us to identify the things we are ready to let go of and then I want us to realize that the fear that might follow a desire or a choice to let go is just a fear of the space. I want us to consciously say to that fear- "Wait a second- I believe in a Universe made of love, and as such this fear is not real. I step into the unknown with the knowingness that by listening to my Inner Teacher- whatever comes is for my higher good and will ultimately bring love"
2020, you came in with so much promise- what a fun number to say "2020" we took you for granted, assumed you would be just another year (maybe that thinking is part of the problem that led us here). We loved the 20/20 puns back in January, the width and breadth of how applicable that phrase would be and how it would come to sting so strong in the months to follow was unknown to us.
If we only knew then what we know now.
What do we know now?
What do you know now?
What will you leave behind in 2020?
What will you take with you into 2021?
What new thing will you bring into creation in this new year ahead?
Those of you amazing yogis who I have known for many, many, years know that I ask you these questions every year. This year I truly hope you join me and our community in answering them. I, in fact, hope you ask those you know and love, any maybe even those you don't to join us! We have to spread the journey. We have to spread the joy of this practice.
With great respect and love,
Nicole
